In addition to their new EP Equals, Second Still is also releasing a 5-song live session commissioned by Michael Stock and Part Time Punks based in Los Angeles. The Part Time Punks Session includes alternate versions of three tracks from Second Still’s debut self-titled LP, one song written specifically for this session, and a cover song of “Echelons” by the band For Against. Perhaps what makes this release most unique is that the band made the stylistic decision to use live drums (played by Lucian Ray) on three of the tracks, in what makes for a drastic departure from the band’s signature sound of layered hypnotic drum machine beats.
